Description

Details

The Canon Powershot G7 X II is a very high quality compact camera that can produce stunning results. The Fantasea housing has good ergonomics and is well made. For land use the G7 X II is particularly impressive, definitely one of the best compact cameras on the market at the moment.

Underwater it can produce very good results though due to the camera's fairly bulky wide lens it is not ideal for attaching external wide angle 'wet' lenses. As attaching a wide angle lens onto a compact camera housing is so important for producing high quality images of larger subjects underwater, we don't think this package makes the best camera system for underwater use. The smaller Powershot G9 X II, which shares the same processor and sensor of the G7 X II, can produce better optical quality with an external wide angle lens. Both cameras are very advanced and have a large number of options.

For customers who do not want to spend a lot of time learning how their camera works then we recommend looking at the Olympus TG-5, which has a smaller learning curve.
