General Information
Ewa-marine flexible housings (sometimes called 'Splashbags')
are available for a wide range of HD camcorders and for many
standard definition and older models. The housings are made from
tough double-laminate clear PVC, and provide a flat optical glass
window for the lens. The housing is closed and sealed by an anodised
aluminium clamping rail, which is secured by means of captive
handwheel nuts. Most camera controls can be operated through
the flexible plastic. For awkward but essential controls, access
thimbles are provided on some models..
 Housings of this
type reduce in volume as the depth increases. A maximum operating
depth of 10m is recommended for most models, not because
water will enter the housing, but because a point will be reached
where the housing will cling tightly to the camera and the controls
will become difficult or impossible to operate. Buoyancy can
be adjusted by adding optional ballast
weights, either internally or externally, depending on the
model. |
Tripod System

Suitable for fitting to most of the larger video housings.
Camera model must be specified at time of ordering.
Allows camera to be fitted to a tripod, camera-crane, etc.
Housing remains waterproof.
All metal parts are anodized to give corrosion resistance.
Suitable for :TV182, TV184, V1000, V2000, VEX1, VEX3, VFX, VF7,
VP2, VXA, VXL, VXL2, VXM, VXM2, VZ7, TV170, TV171, A-Mini

The Tripod-Connector is permanently fixed to the housing. It
comes with an external screw thread to connect the housing to
the tripod and features an internal connector plate, similar
to that found on tripods, that you will have to fit onto the
camera before "clicking" it into the shoe in the housing.
Both sides feature a standard ¼"-20tpi (threads per
inch) screw thread as found on all regular cameras.
 Please note that
the Tripod-Connector is positioned to suit the specified camera.
This can limit the range of cameras that can be used inside the
housing. |
