EV Controller and
TTL Slave Sensor

EV Controller with Slave

TTL Slave

Ikelite EV Controller with Slave Sensor: #4100.6

EV controller used with DS-125.
4100.6 with DS-125
Some digital cameras do not use TTL or automatic cut-off flash systems (e.g., Canon A and S series). In this case the solution is to use a TTL flash unit with an EV (or guide number) controller.
Ikelite 4100.6 features:
10 Manual power settings in 1/2 EV (1/2 f stop) increments.
Slave sensor built-in. Can also use electrical triggering via Ikelite sync cord.
Works with conventional and pre-flash cameras.
Additional Substrobe with TTL slave will duplicate the manual setting of the EV controller. (It's not possible to fit a dual cable to the EV controller)

EV controller used with DS-50.

4100.6 is powered by the Substrobe. Works only with Ikelite DS-series strobes.

Removable plug (with coin-slot) at rear gives access to basic mode-setting switches:
A-B switch:  Setting A for single-flash cameras - fires the strobe on every flash.   Setting B for pre-flash cameras - ignores the first flash.
C-D switch:  Setting C for DS-125,  D for DS-50.

Ikelite TTL Slave sensor: #4100.5:

4100.5 with DS-50
Eliminates the need for a dual sync cable in dual flash systems and provides full TTL functionality.
Triggers from the internal flash of cameras with no external flash connection.
Max. Operating Range: approx. 15m underwater (sensitivity adjustable).
Must be connected to Ikelite DS-series Substrobe, but can be triggered by a master flash of any make. Detects firing and quenching of master flash, and signals the Substrobe to fire and quench in sync. with it.
Exposure accuracy: ± 1/10 EV.
Mounts on standard Ikelite ¾" diameter arm stem or tube. Other mounting options discussed below.
Dimensions: Body diameter (at front window): 45.5mm, Front to back: 79mm, Height inc. mount: 105.6mm

TTL Slave Unit 4100.5.
4100.5 mode switch.
#4100.5 TTL slave sensor for Ikelite DS-series ("digital") substrobes (DS-50, DS-125).
Reproduces digital camera pre-flashes.
4100.5 connects with DS-series strobes only.
Powered by the DS-series substrobe. Does not require batteries.

Pre-flash intensity switch (4100.5): Located beneath removable plug with coin slot.
Right position (shown) is for cameras using pre-flash. Provides long pre-flash to reduce chance of overexposure.
Left position is for cameras which do not use pre-flash. Also provides shortened pre-flash with pre-flash cameras, increasing exposure.

Mounting Options, Ikelite sensors:

0469.1 Standard hard-rubber mounting for slave sensors. Fits tightly over Ikelite 19mmf arm tube. Supplied when sensor is bought separately. Not supplied with arm packages which do not require it.

For mounting on Ikelite quick-release handle, choose an arm system with an extended quick-release stem. The quick release stem may also be purchased separately. #9571.3 has 1" ball. #9577.33 has 1.25" ball. See arms page and arm components page.

9580 Split-clamp mount for slave sensors. Required for fitting sensor to ball-ended handgrip, or to double-ball arm section. see arm components page / accessory mounts

Ball-joint clamp with ¾" stub for slave sensor or Mini-C light mount.
9571.23 for 1" ball-joint arm systems.
9577.23 for 1.25" ball-joint arm systems.
see arm components page / clamps

The Ikelite sensor or EV controller can ulso be mounted using an Ultralight triple-ball clamp AC-TCS, and ball with ¾" stub AD-TTL. Ultralight also provides ¾" stems for the Ikelite Quick-Grip system, and the Ultralight digital tray. See Ultralight section / clamps.

TLC Adapter. #17856.
To mount Ikelite sensor on the side of TLC lattice arm.
see TLC section / clamps.

Mounting the sensor:
Current preferred practice is to mount the sensor on an extended quick-release stem as shown above. Additional options are discussed below.

The Ikelite sensor fits directly on to the ¾" diameter tube of Ikelite standard arms (e.g., 4076). In the case of Quick Grip (ball joint) arms, the end fittings will not pass through a ¾" diameter hole, and the supplied hard-rubber mounting adapter is required. The adapter is slotted to enable it to fit over the arm lug, and has a ¾" diameter stub to which the sensor can be attached. The adapter cannot be used with the 7" Quick Grip II 4083.07 or the 7" Quick Release Handle 9578.07 because the handle is too short to accommodate it. Choose the 9" or longer versions if you intend to mount the Remote TTL Slave.
The rubber adapter will not slide over an arm ball-end. To fit the sensor to a Quick Handle with ball (9581.xx) or a double-ball arm extension (9580.xx), use the optional split-clamp type adapter 9580.

9580
The slave sensor may also be mounted on a ball-joint clamp with ¾" stub. #9571.23 is for 1" ball-arms, #9577.23 is for 1.25" ball arms. See the Ikelite Arm Components page (left menu).
