Ikelite Lens Adapters |
External lens mounting adapters for Ikelite digital stills
housings with 2.2" (55.88mm) diameter port.
AD types fit INON bayonet wide
and macro lenses.
M67 types fit 67mm screw-fit lenses and filters (Epoque, INON,
etc.).
Available in short and long port versions.
For correct type: please see
compatibility notes on housing page (or call).
Camera built-in flash is usually
blocked by an external wide-angle lens. Use of an external
flash system or natural lighting is assumed. Removable opaque-white
flash deflector plate prevents uneven illumination when using
internal flash to trigger external slave flash. |

Notes on using
the Ikelite lens adapters:
The Ikelite adapter fits over
the lens port on the housing and is held in place by means of
three screws with knurled heads. The screws protrude into a groove
on the port, so that the adapter cannot fall off accidentally.
The screws prevent free rotation of the adapter when fully engaged,
but the adapter can still be rotated with moderate force (i.e.,
it becomes stiff to rotate, but it is not locked in position).
Hence, when an accessory lens is fitted or removed underwater,
it is necessary to hold the adapter to prevent it from rotating
(particularly in the case of the Inon bayonet types). This can
be done by putting fingers in the way of the screw-heads.
When a lens with an anti-flare
hood is fitted, the adapter should be rotated so that the hood
does not cut-off the view when the camera zoom is at its most
wide-angle setting.
Even when the anti-flare hood
is correctly aligned, some lens and camera combinations may vignette
at the maximum-wide setting (i.e, there may be darkening at the
corners of the picture). In that case, zoom-in until the vignetting
disappears.
After entering the water, an
accessory lens should be removed and replaced to ensure that
the space between the lens and the port is filled with clear
water (no bubbles). |
